The Library eResource Access Options can be used to control the prioritization of access options in the Library eResources list where more than one resource is available for any item.
For example, if a journal is activated in the TDNet Discover holdings for access via both the publisher and a vendor, the prioritization in the Access Options determines which is the priority source to be used for linking to the journal.
This example Prioritization setting prioritizes Publisher access over access via the Vendor website.
In the case of this journal, the Publisher access link is higher in the list of access options than the Publisher access link, and clicking on the title link will take the user to the journal on the Publisher website, rather than on the Vendor website.
The Access Options can be prioritized using a Simple or Fine-Grained categorization.
- Simple: Prioritise resources by the following broad categories:
- Publisher
- Vendor
- Open Access
- Pay Per View
- Current Subscription
- Library Catalog
- Fine-Grained: Prioritise by the specific collections in the activated holdings and Publisher-direct titles.
To adjust the prioritization simply drag each entry to the desired position in the list.
In the fine-grained view, options are available to exclude selected collections. Excluding a collection suppresses full-text links from appearing for articles from journals in the selected collections.
Group Vendors
The option to group vendors consolidates links from multiple collections into a single link when a journal is provided from multiple collections from the same vendor.
