Many customers use the repository to showcase articles authored by their employees.
Since articles are often co-authored with external researchers, the Authors facet can sometimes include many names unrelated to the institution.
The Institutional Author feature enables administrators to designate their own employees as institutional authors.
This enables:
A clear visual indication on the record details page.
Easy filtering with a dedicated Institutional Authors facet.
Bulk identification of institutional authors through metadata enrichment (PMID/DOI).
Where This Feature Appears
Repository Record Editor – Mark contributors as institutional authors.
Repository Record Details Page – Institutional authors are highlighted for end-users.
Repository Records -> Bulk Import – Automatically identify institutional authors during imports.

Bulk Import
When importing via PMID/DOI enrichment, you can configure automatic recognition of institutional authors by listing institutional affiliations.
A new setting is available at the top of the bulk import screen:
Institutional affiliations:
Enter relevant affiliation terms (e.g., "This Medical Center", "This University") on separate lines.
These values will be stored and shared across all admins in your institution, so you don’t need to re-enter them each time a bulk import is performed.
Facets
On the Repository Settings -> Facets & Filters, an Institutional Authors facet is available.
This facet is disabled by default.
Admins can enable it to allow filtering by institutional authors.
With this feature, institutions can better highlight their own researchers and simplify discovery for their end users.
